The purpose of this role to oversee the day-to-day operations at our Manufacturing site in Heerbrugg. Holding the formal title of Managing Director, they will act as the central liaison between departments, ensure compliance with local policies, ensuring that all agreed goals and objectives are achieved across manufacturing and operations.
Local decision maker, and empowered to resolve issues and drive cultural change in line with Rayner values. Importantly this role needs to provide clarity on roles and responsibilities and create an organisation structure fit for future growth. They will be directly responsible for the manufacturing team and Operations support functions, and work closely with RA/QA, R&D and Marketing to deliver our strategic objectives ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Site manager responsibilities supporting all HR, Facilities and Health & Safety related activities at the site, in collaboration with Rayner HQ
* Direct responsibility for manufacturing sites in Heerbrugg, Switzerland
* Achievement of the defined budget and production objectives
* Ensure all production quality metrics are achieved.
* Define strategy for increasing manufacturing capacity and productivity at both This AG and LUMed
* Drive operational change to improve ways of working, effectiveness and responsiveness to ensure the team can support fast paced delivery of short term objectives
* Direct responsibility for the purchasing team, ensuring sufficient levels of componentry to meet production plan.
* Dotted line management of Director of Marketing, Head of R&D and Head of RA/QA, all of whom report via matrix structure into Rayner Global ExCom members
* Work with Marketing, R&D, RA/QA and Technical Services on new product development, enhancements, software releases, to ensure product meets quality standards and is compliant with all necessary global regulatory requirements and necessary technical support processes and documentation are all in place.
* Set local performance and cultural expectation goals for management team
* Provide timely and accurate management reports
* Drive a continuous improvement culture with integration of new systems and processes as the business grows
* Ensure that appropriate compliance policies and standards are upheld
* Undertake other duties appropriate to the level and character of the work as may reasonably be required by the Company
* Acts as formal legal representative of the THIS AG entity (“Managing Director”)
* Executes required signatures for statutory filings, contracts, and official documents incollaboration with Group Legal and other depts as necessary such as HR and Finance
* Ensures compliance with Swiss corporate and regulatory requirements
* Undertake due diligence activities as required on potential bolt-on acquisitions
What Experience & Skills You Will Need:
Essential
* Significant experience leading a manufacturing facility
* Lean/continuous improvement experience
* A commercial mindset – balancing cost, quality, service, and scalability
* Experience in Human, Material and Budgetary Resources Management
* Confidence leading through change, ambiguity and growth
* Project management experience
* Proficient in English language (written/spoken)

* Medical device/pharmaceutical experience
