Technical Service & Application Development Leader f/m/d
DuPont is seeking a Technical Service & Application Development Leader f/m/d based in Freienbach. This role focuses on advancing adhesive technologies, supporting localization efforts, and driving portfolio transformation to meet regulatory and customer needs.
Responsibilities and objectives
* Advancing Adhesive Technologies: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of automotive manufacturing standards, material compatibility, and performance requirements to ensure adhesive products meet exact specifications. Possess knowledge of testing equipment and quality requirements of OEMs and Tier suppliers in the transportation sector. Provide customers with clear guidance on testing methodologies and ensure consistency across regions.
* Customer Satisfaction: Continuously improve the product range while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction through direct communication with key customers, collaborating with the account manager and marketing, understanding market requirements, and delivering innovative solutions.
* Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Facilitate effective communication between departments (R&D, marketing, production, engineering, quality assurance) to develop new products, improve mechanical testing procedures, market adhesive products, and address customer issues with troubleshooting.
* Support Localization of Product Portfolio: Support localization efforts tailored to specific customers, particularly COEM in EMEA. Adapt products to local regulatory requirements and market preferences. Provide support for scale-up activities during product launches and oversee manufacturing processes.
* Portfolio Transformation to REACH compliance: Proactively adapt the portfolio to evolving legal requirements, including reducing diisocyanate content and integrating safer alternatives as regulations drive changes.
* New Business through Application Development: Develop new application markets (e.g., railway industry), identifying potential markets, leveraging the commercial portfolio, and determining the need for customized adhesive solutions.
* Compliance with Safety Standards: Ensure all developed products meet relevant safety regulations and industry standards for legal compliance and end-user safety.
Qualifications
* Education: Master’s degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
* Experience: Proven experience in polyurethane-based adhesive technologies and adhesive applications in transportation, particularly automotive.
* Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities and knowledge of service operations.
* Interpersonal Skills: Self-motivated with exceptional collaboration skills for working with internal and external stakeholders.
* Hands-On Collaboration: Active engagement with production and quality assurance teams to drive improvements; work with engineering to enhance mechanical testing processes.
* Language Proficiency: Proficient in English and German; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
* Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office for project documentation and reporting.
* Laboratory Skills: Able to perform practical lab work in compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety standards.
* Digitalization Skills: Familiarity with statistical analysis and data visualization software; understanding of DOE, DFMEA, and AI concepts.
* Technical Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical claims using material characterization techniques.

This position requires a combination of laboratory and office work, with adherence to safety protocols and collaboration across multiple teams to meet project objectives.
