Technical Writer and Video Content Creator – Bellevue, WA. Confidential 3‑month contract.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Computer Science, Multimedia, or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in software or IT domains.
* Strong understanding of technology concepts (e.g., APIs, cloud infrastructure, DevOps).
* Proficiency in documentation tools (e.g., MS Word, Confluence, MadCap Flare, Git).
* Experience with video creation tools (e.g., Camtasia, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in Agile development environments.
* Familiarity with Markdown, HTML, XML, or scripting languages.
* Exposure to tools like JIRA, GitHub, or CI/CD pipelines.
* Basic understanding of Kubernetes, cloud platforms, or automation tools.
* Experience in creating accessible content for diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain technical documentation including user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, and knowledge base articles.
* Create instructional and explainer videos to complement written documentation, including screen recordings, voiceovers, and animations.
* Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and understand product functionality.
* Edit and proofread content for clarity, grammar, and consistency.
* Organize documentation in structured formats (e.g., Markdown, HTML, Confluence).
* Ensure all content aligns with branding, accessibility, and compliance standards.
* Participate in product demos and technical reviews to stay updated on changes.
* Design diagrams, flowcharts, and visuals to support both written and video content.
