The Airfield Manager provides guidance for manging airport personnel, programs, facilities and the airfield. Provids a safe, efficient, and effective airfield environment for aircraft operations.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure that Airport functions as expected and employees conduct themselves professionally
* Conduct airfield inspections and checks, manages flightline driving program
* Plan holidays so that work tasks are maintained at all times
* Prepare proposals for optimizing/streamlining operations in the department
* Ensure that the selected technologies and solutions are used to carry out the department's tasks
* Responsible for preparing, maintaining and updating all necessary procedures and manuals, and making sure employees work according to the documents
* Reports on deviations to Management
* Ensure that the department's employees have the necessary skills and qualifications, including that everyone is cross-trained in relation to their areas of responsibility
* Responsible for maintaining training record for local qualificaiont traning, recurring/proficiency training and documentation of actual training completed.
* Ensure good communication and cooperation with other departments
* Organizing various staff interviews
* Ensure that the work is carried out in a safe manner
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION
* Must possess a USAF Airfield Manger Position Certification or Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) equivalent training at start of assignment.
* English level 3, Read, speck, and write
* Driver's license B
* Minimum 3 years of experience with Airport/airfield Management AM (military or civilian) supervisory and/or management level training and experience planning, organizing and executing AM duties.
* Completed AM- PCG's
* Completed AM CBT's and Advanced Distributed Learning Service
EXPERIENCE
* Solid management experience, minimum 3 years (military or civilian) supervisory and/or management level training and experience planning, organizing and executing duties.
Leadership training is an advantage
* Knowledge of performing work under a Contractor Performance Work Statements and other contractual matters
* Ability to provide clear communication at all levels, good cooperation skills and organizational understanding
* Comprehensive overview of tasks in the department
* Worked at an austere remote location under extreme weather conditions
* Clearing runways, taxiways, ramps, engine run-up pads, runway overruns, airfield access roads, and helicopter landing areas
* Maintaining and airfield and flight advisory messages

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
* Must annually complete the Airfield Criteria, Standards, and Facilities Computer-Based Training (CBT) course developed by Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC), the Airfield Manager Position Certification Guide (PCG), the Airfield Inspection CBT, Flight-Line Drivers Training CBT and the Wildlife Hazard Management CBT.
* Must be able to pass a medical and drug screening
* Must be able to otain and maintain a Common Access Card
* Must be able to successful clear a background check
* Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and long shifts
* Must be able to lift up to 20lbs unassisted.
* Must be able to work in unfavorable conditions of temperatures below 32 degrees
