We are seeking an Upstream Bioprocess Engineer to develop, enhance, and implement systems that increase efficiency and optimize all phases of production processes, from design through manufacturing. This role involves overseeing process design projects and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of processes related to the production of biopharmaceutical products.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, optimize, and implement upstream processes and equipment for cell culture and bioproduction.
Operate and optimize key upstream manufacturing units, including:
Bioreactors (stirred-tank or single-use)
Media preparation and feeding systems
Cell harvesting and clarification systems
Single-use systems and assemblies
CIP (Clean-in-Place) and SIP (Steam-in-Place) systems
Evaluate existing processes, propose improvements, and implement best practices to reduce costs, improve productivity, enhance sustainability, and ensure product quality.
Create prototypes, conduct testing, and make necessary modifications to optimize upstream bioprocesses.
Requirements:
3–5 years of experience in upstream bioprocess engineering or related roles in biopharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing.
Knowledge of upstream bioprocess equipment and systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process optimization skills.
