Senior Data Engineer | Zurich | Hybrid
We’re currently looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a high‑performing consulting and engineering team delivering data‑driven solutions for clients across Switzerland. If you enjoy designing robust data architectures, working with large‑scale datasets, and enabling advanced analytics and machine learning, this is a great opportunity to work on impactful and technically challenging projects.
What you’ll be doing
* Design and implement scalable data pipelines and architectures (cloud and on‑premise)
* Integrate, transform, and manage data from diverse sources in a reliable and reproducible way
* Build, test, and monitor distributed data processing systems
* Collaborate with data scientists to enable machine learning use cases
* Optimise performance and cost of data platforms and pipelines
* Develop dashboards and visualisations to communicate insights effectively
* Work closely with clients and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
* Contribute to best practices in data engineering and support knowledge sharing within the team

What we’re looking for
* 5+ years experience in Data Engineering or similar technical roles
* Strong experience with Python, SQL, and data pipeline development
* Solid understanding of distributed systems and scalable data architectures
* Experience working with Big Data technologies and cloud platforms
* Strong problem‑solving skills and a structured, solution‑oriented mindset
* Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
Nice to have
* Experience with machine learning workflows and data science collaboration
* Exposure to DevOps practices and containerisation (e.g. Kubernetes)
* Consulting or client‑facing experience
Languages
German and English – both required (B2–C1+ level)
