OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and skilled Project Lead Engineer and Functional Lead to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical planning and execution of gas-insulated switchgear projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. As the Functional Lead for extension projects, you will ensure successful execution of extension projects by the engineering team.ResponsibilitiesProject planning and technical detailing of gas-insulated switchgear, including preparation of all necessary documents for order, fabrication and customersDiscussion of technical solutions with customers and internal stakeholdersManagement of all technical communication channels internally as well as externallyProject execution and ordering of required material including necessary configurationResponsibility for project costs, deadlines & scope of deliveryFunctional lead of one Project Lead Engineer in Switzerland and one Project Lead Engineer in our extended workbench with focus on extension projectsOverall responsibility for the successful execution of extension projects within engineering, overseeing the process from technical handover through engineering, production, until project close-outDetailed elaboration of quality cases and improvement processesTechnical support of the project until completion of on-site assemblyOccasional travel to customer meetings or site visitsQualificationsBachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical EngineeringAt least 5 years of relevant work experience in project engineering of gas-insulated switchgearProficiency in CAD software (e.g. Creo, AutoCAD) and other engineering toolsProven track record in managing engineering teams or functional management role with strong leadership and communication skillsExperience in SAP and Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to assist in developing project schedules and tracking progressFamiliar with supporting various project phases, including production, transportation, installation, and testingStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and escalate issuesExperience in coordinating resources, including materials and equipmentAbility to work effectively within an international team environment and collaborate with other departmentsFluent in English; proficiency in other languages (e.g. German, Spanish or French) is a plusMore about usOur flexible working practices help you optimize personal and business performance while creating an environment where all employees can develop their skills and grow.Accessibility and accommodationsQualified individuals with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access the Hitachi Energy career site as a result of your disability.
