Purpose Of Assignment
UNICEF’s Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) Division delivers income, influence, and brand recognition globally. Within PFP, the Individual Giving (IG) team guides fundraising markets in implementing global, regional, and market strategies. Our 2022-25 IG strategy focuses on audience-centricity, digital acceleration, and a marketing-oriented approach. The IG Team aims to reach ambitious income targets through digital channels with relevant campaigns and offers. The IG unit, Geneva, seeks a Digital Content Specialist to support fundraising offices, particularly in Latin America, with planning, developing, and measuring impactful digital campaigns, propositions, and fundraising products.

Scope Of Work
Under the guidance of the Fundraising Manager (FMS), the consultant will:

Serve as the Digital Content Specialist for LACRO, supporting LAC markets.

Create a strong pipeline of digital content for acquisition and donor journeys for the region.

Collaborate with external creative agencies to produce fundraising content for digital paid media campaigns.

Plan and deliver capacity-building activities to strengthen digital skills in markets.

Coordinate with Country Office teams to align organic and paid content strategies.

Regularly source footage, images, and stories for internal content libraries for campaign creatives.

Brief Country Offices to generate relevant field content aligned with campaign needs.

Provide creative leadership during emergencies.

Follow IG Agile ways of working to develop and deliver effective solutions.

Work Assignments

Deliver all creative assets as outlined in the paid media marketing plan and report on content performance.

Provide direct support to Accelerate Acquisition projects with markets.

Support markets in scaling up their digital fundraising content strategies.

Deliverables
The consultant will submit deliverables as outlined below (deliverables and respective timelines). Payments will be processed upon acceptance of deliverables by the supervisor.

Deliverable 1: by end Feb, end March, end April, end May 2026

Deliver up to 40 ready-to-use paid media content pieces.

Provide direct support to up to 2 markets as part of the Accelerate Acquisition project.

Support up to 3 markets during sudden-onset emergencies.

Submit a content performance report for the period.

Deliver up to 2 regional webinars for capability building.

Deliverable 2: by end June, end July, end August, end September 2026

Develop insight-based, high-performing creative propositions and assets for digital platforms and donor journeys, with the use of AI tools (as approved by UNICEF) and with external agencies and creative resources.

Advise markets on creative strategies, informed by performance insights and updated guidance from Google and Meta.

In collaboration with IG, communications, advocacy, and programme teams, develop at least 2 new creative products tailored to specific audience segments or motivations.

Strengthen cross-divisional collaboration for content gathering and integrated campaigns across organic, paid, and earned channels.

Deliverable 3: by end October, end November, end December 2026, by end Jan 2027

Support markets in adopting strategic shifts aligned with IG goals for higher volume and quality of income.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders on digital growth projects (e.g., Accelerate Acquisition, Accelerate Retention, donor journey innovations). Requires understanding of digital paid media and platforms (e.g., Marketing Cloud, Google, Meta).

Support markets in launching and/or optimizing the Paddington Postcards programme and other fundraising products.

Develop a regional end-of-year content package.

Travel

There is a possibility of travel to country offices as needed. Travel expenses are not included in the lump sum fee and are reimbursed per UNICEF travel policy. The consultant arranges travel; related costs are reimbursed.

All UNICEF rules related to travel apply. Travel requires prior written UNICEF approval. The consultant must be fit to travel and have a valid UN BSAFE certificate, required inoculations, travel/medical insurance, and immunization card.

Qualifications
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education
An advanced university degree in Marketing, Communication, Advertising, Management, or related field; or a first-level degree with 2 additional years of qualifying professional experience in lieu of the advanced degree.

Experience
Minimum five (5) years of relevant professional experience in digital content planning and development; proven experience supporting digital campaigns; strong knowledge of content creation tools and digital marketing platforms (e.g., Marketing Cloud, Google, Meta); experience reporting on content performance; experience in the South American context is an asset; UNICEF/UN experience is an asset; fundraising experience and donor journeys are assets.

Others
Copywriting for fundraising is an asset; strong understanding of digital platforms; Canva design proficiency is an asset.

Language
Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Knowledge of other official UN languages is an asset.

Remarks

Please indicate all-inclusive (lump sum) fees against the deliverables in your cover letter. Office selects based on best value for money.

Payment of professional fees is based on deliverable acceptance. UNICEF may withhold payment for substandard deliverables or delays.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Consultants are not staff members under UN rules and policies and do not receive staff benefits. Conditions of service are governed by the contract and UN/UNICEF general terms for consultants.

Selected candidates must have valid visa (where applicable) and health insurance for the contract duration. SARS-CoV-2 vaccination may be required for on-site work, per WHO-endorsed guidance; remote work may be exempt.
