The Position

The Developmental Systems and Computational Biology group led by Gray Camp at the Institute of Human Biology (IHB) at Roche in Basel Switzerland is searching for a postdoctoral scientist to develop a research direction on integrative analyses of single-cell sequencing and imaging data of complex human model systems for exploratory and translational research. The group works on diverse tissues and topics, including development and disorders of the gut, brain, and eye, and are broadly searching for an ambitious researcher to join the team to expand expertise in integrated computational analyses of high-throughput, high-information-content data.


The Opportunity

We invite you to develop a research direction on integrative analyses of single-cell sequencing and imaging data for exploratory and translational research.


Who You Are

* Completed a PhD in computational biology or a closely related field within the past 3 years
* Strong experience and publication record in single-cell data analysis: sequencing, spatial -omic, imaging
* Prior training and/or experience in machine learning would be advantageous
* Drive to understand organoids and other complex models of human biology and disease
* Desire to work within a highly collaborative research environment
* Ambition to become an independent group leader or professor

* Duration: 2 years with extension options
* Start date: As soon as possible

Institute of Human Biology (IHB)

The Institute of Human Biology (IHB) is a research center located in Basel Switzerland dedicated to engineering the most advanced human model systems for drug discovery, drug development and precision medicine. Our interdisciplinary and highly interactive research environment bridges academic and pharmaceutical research, connecting biologists, engineers, and data scientists.
