International industrial group seeking a senior interim finance leader to strengthen financial steering within a project-driven manufacturing business unit.
Strong expertise required in project finance, Percentage of Completion (PoC), long-term contract accounting, and Business Unit financial planning.
Main Responsibilities
* Act as the primary finance partner to Business Unit leadership in a project-based environment
* Provide transparency on project portfolio performance, profitability, and margin development
* Oversee Percentage of Completion (PoC) accounting and margin reconciliation
* Ensure accurate revenue recognition and milestone billing governance
* Anticipate and mitigate cost overruns across complex customer projects
* Steer working capital across the full project lifecycle
* Lead Business Unit budgeting and forecasting cycles (OPEX, CAPEX, headcount planning)
* Calculate and review activity rates to ensure proper cost absorption logic
* Ensure consistency in cost center allocation and financial structures
* Support carve-out activities and integration of newly structured entities
* Design and implement robust intercompany pricing mechanisms
* Develop functional P&L transparency at Business Unit level
* Deliver structured monthly insights on project results versus plan
* Provide forward-looking financial forecasts with clear risk assessment
* Translate complex project data into concise, management-ready insights
* Drive standardization and continuous improvement within project finance processes
* Lead and develop an international project finance team
Candidate Profile
* A senior finance professional who can operate independently and deliver impact from day one
* 10-15+ years of experience in finance within manufacturing or engineering environments
* Strong background in project controlling, long-term contract accounting, or industrial project finance
* Deep understanding of Percentage of Completion (PoC), revenue recognition, and project margin analysis
* Experience acting as Finance Business Partner at Business Unit level
* Exposure to structural changes, carve-outs, or entity integrations is highly beneficial
* Strong knowledge of SAP (S/4HANA and project modules preferred) and BI systems
* Proven leadership experience managing small international teams
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior operational stakeholders
* Hands-on, analytical, and solution-oriented
