Supplier Development and Quality Engineer
Ensure continuous product and process quality of suppliers based on specifications, standards, and customer-specific requirements. Qualify, train, and develop new and existing suppliers to support VAT's growth. Collaborate across functions to achieve project goals. Share experience and learnings with suppliers and procurement teams.
YOUR CHALLENGES
Evaluate potential suppliers with the Category Management department
Plan and perform system and process audits with suppliers
Supervise process and quality improvements, including qualification and validation
Assess existing supply chain capabilities and development potential
Maintain relationships across departments
Monitor supplier KPIs and track corrective actions
Report on supplier performance to the SDQ-Teamleader
Train suppliers on VAT processes, standards, and technologies
Review initial sample test reports from suppliers
Handle complaints using the 8D method
YOUR COMPETENCIES
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar
At least 4 years of experience in a quality-focused technical role
Additional degree in quality engineering is a plus
Fluent in English and German (written and spoken)
Willing to travel internationally (20-30%)
Experience with high-tech components and quality systems
Knowledge of internal/external audits and quality management systems
Auditor qualification is advantageous
Experience working in international, matrix teams
Strong communication, listening, and negotiation skills
Resilient and flexible
Understanding of customer requirements, especially in the semiconductor industry, is preferred
Ability to meet KPI targets for suppliers
Ensure suppliers are trained and qualified in relevant processes
