The Asset & Liability Management (ALM) and Investment Risk team at Swiss Life Asset Managers (SLAM) oversees strategic asset allocation and ALM, portfolio construction, and market risk management for Swiss Life’s own assets. We specialize in optimizing investment strategies and enhancing risk-adjusted returns versus liabilities. Our team collaborates closely with portfolio managers, risk experts, and senior management to deliver a capital efficient portfolio.

We are currently seeking a motivated working student to join our team two days a week (40%), with potential to increase workload during semester breaks, to support the modernization and automation of our investment processes. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading institutional asset manager for someone passionate about financial markets, data analytics, and technology-driven transformations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and automate investment reports by transitioning existing Excel/VBA processes to advanced visualization tools (e.g., Dash, PowerBI).
- Streamline and optimize data workflows to significantly reduce manual efforts and enhance accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate closely with the ALM and investment risk team to support portfolio analysis, market risk management, and asset allocation initiatives.
- Participate actively in ongoing technology and automation projects within SLAM.
Experience:
- Currently pursuing a degree in finance, economics, computer science, mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong technical skills in programming (e.g., Python) and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Dash, PowerBI).
- Understanding of financial markets; prior work experience within the financial industry is advantageous.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to handle complex financial datasets and propose innovative solutions.
- Proactive, result-oriented, and eager to learn in an international, fast-paced team environment.
