An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior HTA Statistician to apply innovative statistical approaches to complex challenges in health technology assessment (HTA). This role offers the chance to lead evidence synthesis of patient data from clinical, observational, and real-world data studies supporting HTA submissions, in a flexible and collaborative environment.
The role is responsible for leading the design and execution of evidence synthesis for HTA submissions, including EU HTA JCA Dossier, and for health economic models. The position applies methodological and analytical expertise to predict the value of Novartis assets and develop strategies to demonstrate this to external decision makers. The role will strategically and effectively communicate and tailor generated evidence to multiple stakeholder audiences.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop core global Indirect Treatment Comparison (ITC) plans for HTA, payer, and other access stakeholder assessments, submissions, and negotiations. Lead related publications to meet business objectives.
* Provide strategic, methodological, and analytical support to regions and key countries with adaptation of ITCs for local HTA submissions and support local HTA strategy assessment. Coordinate data requirements across evidence generation functions to support pricing and reimbursement.
* Set up systems internally to proactively capture key HTA analytic requirements across international markets to inform and optimize deliverables like statistical analysis plans. Track HTA priorities and align resources accordingly.
* Identify the need for preliminary ITCs to inform value propositions, development, pricing, and strategic forecasts.
* Lead and facilitate sharing of best practices and key learnings across regions and teams.
* Stay updated on innovative techniques, leveraging robust analytical methods using clinical data and published information to inform pricing and market access strategies.
* Collaborate with the Medical Affairs Biostatistics team for trial analyses, HTA challenges, and statistical support.
* Act as a strategic partner for HEOR & PCO and International Value & Access teams to ensure alignment with brand, commercial, and evidence strategies. Ensure optimal use of comparative evidence for payer and promotional materials, regulatory dossiers, and publications.
* Provide mentoring and coaching to junior evidence modeling team members and across functions.
Essential requirements:
* MSc/PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field; experience in the pharmaceutical industry or life sciences consultancy.
* 6-8 years relevant experience in Evidence Synthesis, Health Economics, HTA, or related areas.
* Strong understanding of clinical drug development and HTA regulations and processes.
* Experience with country-specific HTA submissions.
* Proficiency in R and/or SAS.
* Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
* Ability to lead in a matrix environment and work collaboratively across teams.
