Duties & Responsibilities
1. Development and Implementation of HSE Policies: creates, updates, and monitors health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
2. Receives the Group strategy from the Executive Committee and verifies its implementation at the coordinated sites.
3. Assist the employer (Datore di Lavoro) as the Safety Manager (RSPP) of the Tirano plant and as a Safety Assistant (Assistente della Sicurezza) of the Mendrisio one.
4. Ensure compliance with Regulations: ensures that the company complies with all local, national, and international health, safety, and environmental regulations.
5. Review and monitor internal and external environmental communications.
6. Keep abreast of current legislation and apply new requirements to the Coordinated Sites.
7. Manage the preparation of the Periodic Safety Meeting according to article 35 of Legislative Decree 81/08, for Mendrisio and Tirano sites.
8. Organize and conduct training sessions for staff on HSE topics.
9. Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with business operations.
10. Conduct investigations into workplace injuries and incidents, determine causes, and implement preventive measures.
11. Prepare periodic reports on HSE performance and maintain necessary documentation.
12. Promote a company culture oriented towards health, safety, and environment through initiatives and campaigns.
Output & Key Result Areas
1. Inform HSE management about the results of safety and environmental audits (internal, second and third party) in the company and in the supply chain of the coordinated site.
2. Apply necessary safety measures resulting from risk assessments and analysis of significant environmental aspects.
3. Prevent accidents, injuries, occupational diseases, and work-related health problems; remediate hazardous areas.
4. Analyze causes of accidents, injuries, near misses, property damage, and dangerous situations across all business functions.
5. Identify potential and actual areas for improvement and assist in setting and achieving goals and tools for improvement.
6. Ensure safety expectations are communicated to the workforce.
Interface, Collaboration, Stakeholders
1. Verify and coordinate the application of safety plans and HSE standards at the coordinated sites (Mendrisio and Tirano).
2. Collaborate with site teams to develop operational, health, and safety instructions.
3. Promote information exchange with the sites and the Group HSE department.
4. Assist sites with HSE certification and second-party audits.
Required Education, Experience, Knowledge
1. Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent work experience.
2. Mandatory RSPP / ASPP certificates (modules A, B, and C).
3. Preferred SLPS safety assistant and SLPS specialist certificates.
4. Stay updated on HSE regulations, technological improvements, and safety best practices.
5. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HSE roles.
