The Global Operations Leader Integrated Biologics plays a critical role in leading, managing and optimizing the global network of Sites and is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operations of the manufacturing network, ensuring the efficient and compliant production of products across all regions. In addition the role is accountable for the initiation and flawless execution of growth projects from Operations perspective and of creating and maintain a competitive edge by manufacturing and supplying Lonza Biologics products of high quality and value, in a timely manner to customers.
The leadership of this function is critical to achieve the Integrated Biologics Platform business and Lonza corporate goals and to drive the worldwide strategic development of the Integrated Biologics Ops network (capacity and capabilities) and the implementation of innovative technologies in order to strengthen Lonza’s leading position as the CDMO of choice for biologics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
* Ensure a culture of safety and quality while driving outstanding delivery and cost performance.
* Guarantee compliance with industry regulations, quality, and HSE standards (GMP, FDA, EMA, etc.).
* Develop and implement strategies for the Global Operations Network based on the Coordinated Biologics Business & Operations strategy.
* Continuously improve site performances to achieve world-class manufacturing standards.
* Coordinate day-to-day operations of the global network, ensuring efficient processes, timely delivery, and optimal cost management.
* Work closely with global supply chain and logistics teams to ensure smooth flow of materials and products.
* Develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions.
* Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory teams to perform audits, address non-compliance issues, and implement corrective actions.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve manufacturing capabilities and maintain product consistency.
* Actively contribute to the Coordinated Biologics Business Platform leadership team and joint Executive Steering Committees of key global customers.
* Align with internal teams like Sales, Commercial Development, and Program Management to synchronize production timelines with product life cycles.
* Manage prioritization and budgets to meet overall objectives.
* Hire and develop top talent to build hard-working teams and a robust succession pipeline.
* Maintain comprehensive and accurate records related to performance, regulatory filings, and production specifications.
KEY REQUIREMENTS :
* Strong experience in Biologics Manufacturing.
* Proven track record as a successful Site Leader with responsibility over Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, financial deliverables, and Talent development.
* Experience in multisite leadership and growth projects.
* Successful track record with Health Authorities inspections (FDA, EMA, etc.).
* Expertise in managing complex multi-functional teams in a multinational business environment.
* Experience in working in a multicultural and multinational environment.
* Ability to work in a matrix-team structure.
* Strong leadership capabilities.
