Our client is a foundation-owned investment group with significant assets under management. They employ various investment strategies, including private and long-term equity, real estate, infrastructure, and liquid assets. Due to continuous growth, we are mandated to search for an experienced Investment Controller to join their dynamic finance team at the headquarters.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
* Develop and implement controlling tools to support investment strategy execution
* Calculate and report on key financial performance ratios, such as absolute and relative performance, portfolio exposure, risk-adjusted returns, etc.
* Develop standardized investment performance reports for senior management, integrating historical and forward-looking insights
* Lead the development of business plans and long-term forecasts, covering asset allocation, portfolio exposure, and concentration
Financial Systems, Documentation & Process Optimization
* Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation for financial modeling, data warehousing, and performance calculation tools
* Act as a key user for financial and reporting software, ensuring proper implementation and continuous improvement
Cost Monitoring & ESG Reporting
* Develop cost monitoring frameworks, ensuring transparency and efficiency in financial management
* Take ownership of ESG-related reporting obligations, integrating sustainability and regulatory requirements into financial and investment reporting
Requirements:
* 10+ years of experience in financial and business controlling within an asset management firm or similar organization
* Strong expertise in alternative assets (Private Equity, Infrastructure, Real Estate, etc.)
* Proven ability to develop portfolio performance and exposure reporting, portfolio modeling, forecasting, and benchmarking
* Strong analytical mindset, able to interpret business drivers and translate them into meaningful reporting and insights
* Developed IT skills, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
* Hands-on experience with reporting systems and data analytics within an investment-focused environment
* Ability to work cross-functionally, collaborating with investment teams, finance, and senior leadership
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders
