Responsibilities
* Define and design system architecture for optical consumer products, ensuring performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
* Translate product requirements and consumer needs into comprehensive system specifications.
* Lead system-level integration activities, balancing optical, mechanical, electronic, and software requirements.
* Drive technical definition, architecture, and roadmap for advanced optical systems (e.g., multifunctional observation devices).
* Specify and validate system interfaces across multidisciplinary teams (optical, mechanical, electronic, firmware/software).
* Act as a technical reference for internal and external stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
* Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure industrialization and quality assurance.
* Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and innovations in optical science, materials, and technologies.
Requirements
* Master’s degree in Physics, Optics, or a related field (ETH or equivalent, University of Applied Sciences).
* Minimum 3 years of proven experience in optical product development and system-level architecture, ideally in consumer environments; knowledge of binoculars and laser range finders is a plus.
* Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and across project phases.
* Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, combined with a collaborative mindset.
* Fluency in German and English.
