About the Role
We are looking for a Technical Lead for Disruptive Climate Solutions in the Kriens/Luzern region on a permanent basis and as soon as possible.
This role will be part of Carrier Innovation Technologies.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyze trends and needs for HVAC systems with breakthrough advantages (e.g. sustainability, cost, footprint);
* Understand technologies that are already under development by Carrier;
* Acelerate development and deployment of such technologies for European Applications, identify and executive alternative strategies;
* Design and manage the tactical aspects of the job;
* The candidate will work in close coordination with the global Breakthrough Technologies (BTS) team and local business units;
* Substantial availability travel required (up to 50%), mostly within Europe; but annual travel overseas is foreseen.
Requirements
* Masters in Science and Engineering fields (e.g. systems engineering, mechanical, chemical);
* 5+years of experience in technology strategy and development related to HVAC systems;
* Demonstrated experience leading projects;
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* PhD in Science and Engineering fields (e.g. systems engineering, mechanical, chemical);
* Working knowledge of HVAC systems, specifically heat-pumps systems for residential, commercial, district applications;
* Experience in modeling and simulation of HVAC and/or energy systems, at working and leading levels;
* Experience in experimental work for HVAC and/or energy systems, at working and leading levels;
* Experience with design, technology development processes towards new product development, to include system engineering elements such as requirements and specs management, traceability of requirements, functional decompositions, risk management, IP strategy, and some knowledge of cost and business models;
* Working knowledge of Design thinking methodologies;
* Experience working in multi-disciplinary, intercultural environment;
* Enjoys and promotes teamwork;
* Experienced communicator and motivator.
