Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced and reliable person to take full responsibility for the daily care, training, and overall management of our private horses. This is a full-time position dedicated exclusively to our own horses (no guests, no riding school).
Responsibilities
* Daily Horse Care: Feeding, mucking out, grooming, washing, and ensuring the overall wellbeing of the horses.
* Health & Maintenance: Monitoring horse health, administering treatments if necessary, arranging and coordinating veterinary visits.
* Hoof & Farrier Care: Organizing farrier appointments, checking hoof condition, ensuring proper shoeing or trimming.
* Training & Exercise: Riding and training the horses according to their needs and fitness level, ensuring regular exercise routines.
* Stable & Resource Management: Organizing feed supply (hay, grain, supplements), stable materials, bedding, gas and other necessary supplies.
* Logistics & Planning: Coordinating horse transport when needed, preparing horses for travel, and managing all related logistics.
* Organization & Coordination: Acting as the main point of contact for all horse-related matters, ensuring everything is scheduled and managed (suppliers, farriers, vets, transport, equipment).
* Stable Cleanliness & Safety: Keeping the stable, tack, and surrounding areas clean, safe, and well-organized.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a horse trainer, rider, or professional groom.
* In-depth knowledge of horse care, health, and training.
* Strong organizational and planning skills.
* Reliability, responsibility, and the ability to work independently.
* Physical fitness and dedication to horses.
* Flexibility to work weekends and adapt to the needs of the horses.
* Fluency in English or French is required.
