Purpose of the job
As an integral part of the Risk Management team, the Senior Business Analyst/Developer contributes to the Bank’s IT strategy by specifying and building software to support the financial risk domain. The role involves engineering new and existing solutions using microservices and containerisation to strengthen financial risk management and support risk and balance sheet management.
Principal accountabilities
- Maintain and develop Risk Management’s IT systems within the Bank’s overall IT strategy.
- Specify, develop, implement, document and test Risk IT applications, interfaces, services, and processes.
- Support risk strategy and policy by collaborating with business users and designing solutions.
- Provide 24/7 production support for critical systems, ensuring stability and continuous improvement.
- Manage projects using the Bank’s agile project management methodology.
- Provide expert advice on application design, architecture, and strategic technology issues.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as IT, Banking, and Corporate Security on system design, integration, IT security, and change management.
- Build and maintain a professional network with peers at central banks and international institutions.
Qualifications, skills, and experience
- University degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in software development and/or architecture roles.
- Hands‑on experience building and consuming APIs and working with messaging‑based architectures.
- Familiarity with microservices and containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Knowledge of Python programming and experience building micro‑service architectures.
- Expert‑level knowledge of C#/.NET (or another object‑oriented language such as Java or C++).
- Proficiency with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or Sybase.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience with agile development methodologies.
- Excellent English writing skills.
- Proactive, open‑minded approach to learning and continuous improvement.
