About the Santiago network
The Santiago network was established in December 2019 at COP25 to address loss and damage associated with climate change, providing technical assistance to vulnerable developing countries. It includes a Secretariat, an Advisory Board, and a network of organizations and experts. UNOPS and UNDRR co-host the Secretariat for an initial five-year term, supporting its operational and technical functions.
Role of the Communications Manager
Under the guidance of the Director and in collaboration with the Senior Programme Manager, the Communications Manager will develop and implement communication strategies to enhance the network's visibility, communicate its value, and engage diverse audiences. The role involves building stakeholder relationships, managing media relations, and promoting the network’s impact in the global loss and damage response.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and executing communication strategies
* Managing external communications and messaging
* Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders
* Developing content and managing media relations
Qualifications
An advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in communications, public relations, or a related field is preferred.
