German Homeroom Teacher (G2–G3, Dual Language Primary) – International School Zürich North (ISZN), Wallisellen, Switzerland. Start Date: August 2026. Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent.
International School Zürich North (ISZN), part of the Cognita Schools Group, is seeking a dedicated, nurturing and highly skilled German-speaking Primary Homeroom Teacher to lead a class within our bilingual, student-centred learning environment.

The Role
As a German Homeroom Teacher (Primary), you will:
* Lead a homeroom class in Grade 2 or Grade 3, delivering instruction in a dual-language (German/English) model.
* Plan and teach a structured, academically rigorous bilingual programme that develops German literacy, numeracy and social-emotional growth across KG–G2.
* Create a safe, inclusive and inspiring classroom culture that supports young learners’ holistic development.
* Monitor academic and social progress and maintain accurate student records.
* Build strong partnerships with parents, ensuring regular communication about progress, learning and class community life.
* Contribute actively to school life including conferences, reports, training, assemblies, excursions and community events.
* Plan and lead a German Co Curriculum Activity.
Teaching Focus
* Age Groups: Grade 2 (G2) & Grade 3 (G3)
* Instruction Model: Dual Language (German & English)
* Core Scope: Homeroom leadership, bilingual lesson planning, pastoral care, progress monitoring, and parent partnership
Safeguarding & Well-Being
All ISZN staff are expected to:

* Report any safeguarding concerns or incidents promptly and appropriately, in line with policy.
* Engage in safeguarding training and updates as required.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated primary teacher with native-level fluency in German and strong proficiency in English, both spoken and written. The ideal candidate will hold a recognised teaching qualification (such as PGCE, QTS, or an equivalent international certification) and a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching, Education, or a closely related field. You will have proven experience teaching in an international or English-medium primary school, along with excellent communication and classroom management skills, and a genuine commitment to creating a positive, student-centred learning environment. Experience in a German-language or international school and familiarity with bilingual or dual-language teaching approaches will be considered a strong advantage.
