About the Role:
The CAPEX Project Delivery Director is a strategic leader responsible for planning, managing, and executing investment projects through their entire lifecycle. This includes providing leadership to project teams, building relationships with vendors and contractors, and ensuring compliance with regulations and legal requirements.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing project plans, managing budgets, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance, coordinating project teams, monitoring progress, and communicating project status to stakeholders.
This role requires a high degree of technical knowledge, particularly in engineering disciplines such as clean and black utilities, process, automation, instrumentation, and civil engineering. A strong understanding of modern CQV approaches and experience in cost control and scheduling are also essential.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achieving results in project management and will be comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required, as well as the ability to lead, mentor, and coach direct reports and teams.
Accountabilities:
* Develop and execute project plans that meet project objectives through Engineering, Design, Construction, Commissioning, and Qualification phases.
* Manage project budgets and ensure projects stay within budget.
* Ensure safety, quality, and compliance by meeting required safety and quality standards according to internal procedures and specifications as well as health authority requirements.
* Coordinate project teams to ensure efficient work execution.
* Monitor project progress and identify potential issues.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legal requirements.
* Manage project risks by identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
* Communicate project status to stakeholders, including senior management.
* Manage project resources, including equipment, materials, and personnel.
* Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure high-quality work and meet project timelines.
Requirements:
Experience:
* A minimum of 10 years' experience in project engineering and project management for chemical, biochemical, pharmaceutical industries with international experience.
* Broad technical knowledge of various engineering disciplines in the pharmaceutical environment, including clean and black utilities, process, automation, instrumentation, and civil engineering.
* A task-oriented person with excellent problem-solving skills who can work towards set objectives and achieve results.
* Proven experience in cost control and scheduling related to investment projects.
* Experience in engineering aspects of facility design to build compliant but cost-effective plants.
* Knowledge of modern CQV approaches to minimize time from construction completion to routine production while maintaining compliance.
Skills:
* Excellent knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
* Good understanding of how the contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) industry works.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
