The Head of Technology & Systems is responsible for defining and executing bluesign’s technology and systems strategy to enable scalable digital services, secure data management, and operational excellence.
Reporting to blueSign's Managing Director and serving as a member of bluesign's Executive Management Team, this role will build and lead a modern technology function that supports certification, audit, and sustainability services across the global textile ecosystem.
This is a hands‑on leadership role in a growing, mission‑driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and execute a multi‑year technology roadmap aligned with business growth and digital service expansion.
* Design scalable, maintainable application architectures across platforms.
* Lead system integration initiatives to streamline workflows across certification, audit, and partner interfaces.
* Evaluate build vs. buy decisions and manage external vendors and technology partners.
2. Systems & Digital Product Development
* Build and lead a high‑performing development and systems team (internal and external).
* Oversee front‑end and back‑end development initiatives.
* Drive automation and digitalization of core business processes.
3. Data Governance, Security & Compliance
* Ensure secure handling of sensitive customer and partner data.
* Implement strong data governance frameworks and access controls.
* Ensure compliance with GDPR and other applicable data privacy regulations.
* Establish cybersecurity policies and risk mitigation practices.
* Structure and prioritize the technology portfolio in line with strategic impact.
* Implement agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) where appropriate.
* Drive transparency on timelines, budget, and execution risks.
* Introduce KPI‑based performance management for technology initiatives.
5. Executive & Stakeholder Alignment
* Translate business priorities into clear technical execution plans.
* Advise the CEO and Board on technology risks and opportunities.
* Act as sparring partner to commercial, operations, and sustainability leaders.
Required Experience
* 10+ years in senior technology leadership roles (Head of Technology, VP Engineering, CTO, or similar).
* Proven experience building and scaling technology teams in growth‑stage organizations.
* Strong background in Microsoft‑based ecosystems (Azure, .NET, SQL Server, Power Platform).
* Experience integrating business systems and managing application landscapes.
* Demonstrated leadership in digital transformation and systems modernization.
* Experience implementing data governance and security frameworks.
* Exposure to sustainability, certification, compliance‑driven or regulated industries is advantageous.
