Avantor is seeking a motivated Sample Management Technician (f/m/d) in Basel. In this role, you will handle our customer's chemical samples and ensure their proper administration and storage.
This role is a permanent, full‑time position, based at our pharma customer's site in Basel. Next to the base salary, we offer regulated working hours, an annual bonus, training opportunities, and a company pension scheme.
Working hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:00 (40 hours/week). Starting hours can be between 06:00-09:00.
How you will thrive and create an impact
* Manage the samples in the internal database and adjust data as necessary
* Book received chemical samples according to specifications (GMP, non‑GMP, stability samples)
* Manage samples under different storage conditions
* Issue and receive samples to and from the customer
* Disposal of samples according to guidelines
* Communicate via the designated channels to the customers/sample owners in case of queries about disposals
* Comply with the specified framework conditions (duration and type of storage)
Required profile
What we're looking for
Education: Completed degree in Chemistry or Biology (EFZ or Bachelor's)
Experience: First hands‑on experience with managing chemical samples
Preferred qualifications
* Knowledge of GxP rules would be an asset
* Experience in computerized system validation following SOPs and guidelines is desired
* Good IT user knowledge of Excel and LIMS is an advantage
* Fluency in English is a must; fluent German proficiency is an advantage
* Detail‑oriented and structured working style
* Customer‑friendly attitude with a willingness to help both the customer and your team
* Ability to take initiative and collaborate with our customer to continuously expand and improve our services
