The Role
The COO will work closely with the CEO and founders to translate scientific innovation into scalable, market-ready consumer health products. The role spans operations, product development, regulatory coordination, and business development, with direct exposure to investors and strategic partners.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and scale operations across product development, supply chain, and commercialization
* Drive product development from concept to market (consumer health, nutraceuticals, probiotics, enzyme supplements)
* Own and coordinate regulatory strategy (EFSA, FDA, Novel Food, GRAS, NDIN)
* Support and execute business development initiatives and strategic partnerships
* Contribute to fundraising activities and investor communication
* Manage cross-functional projects and external partners
* Establish scalable processes while maintaining a hands‑on, entrepreneurial mindset
Candidate Profile
* Background in consumer healthcare, nutraceuticals, or non‑prescription health products
* Proven experience in business development and product development
* Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (EFSA / FDA, Novel Food, GRAS, NDIN)
* Experience in biotech or ingredient‑based companies, ideally in scaling phases
* Entrepreneurial, independent, execution‑driven personality
* Strong communication skills across scientific, commercial, and investor audiences
Additional Expertise (Nice to Have)
* Protein engineering or formulation exposure
* Supply chain and manufacturing know‑how
* Track record in small to mid‑sized biotech companies bringing products or ingredients to market
