Sci Biostatistics Summer Intern – Statistics & Decision SciencesJohnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine
This internship is part of the Statistics & Decision Sciences (SDS) team at J&J Innovative Medicine Research & Development, L.L.C. It offers undergraduate and graduate students in statistics, biostatistics or related fields the chance to work on real‑world projects across the drug development pipeline—from discovery to confirmatory clinical studies.
Locations (All positions available in these locations) : Allschwil, Switzerland; High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom; Paris, Île‑de‑France, France. Virtual internships may also be offered.
Internship Duration
10–12 weeks of full‑time work, typically from 1 June to 30 September.
Responsibilities
Support research and development activities including data preparation, data exploration with graphical and analytical tools, and statistical model building.
Conduct statistical analyses and write computer programs using R and other popular statistical packages.
Prepare reports and drafts for publication, assisting with documentation of methodology and results.
Design experiments, perform simulations to evaluate optimal designs, and participate in methodological development.
Collaborate with practicing statisticians and computational science specialists to learn and contribute to applied statistical solutions specific to the pharmaceutical industry.
Qualifications
Legally authorized to work permanently in the European Union and non‑EU European countries, without requiring future sponsorship.
Enrolled in an accredited European college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field.
Proven communication skills and the ability to coordinate with mentors and supervisors.
Original thinking and leadership skills are appreciated.
Proficiency in R is preferred.
Proficient in both written and spoken English.
Highly organized, focused, and capable of managing multiple tasks independently and in a team environment.
