Description The AI Procurement Engineer will support the electrical engineering team by identifying, evaluating, and recommending materials, components, and vendors for project requirements. While not responsible for actual procurement, this role ensures technical compatibility, cost efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. The engineer will collaborate with internal teams and procurement specialists to optimize sourcing strategies.

Responsibilities Assist Electrical Design Team with assembly drawings creation for equipment scheduling to reduce processing time.
Coordinate with Procurement for updates to cost catalogs and assemblies.
Optimize electrical component selection balancing cost, performance, and availability.
Review take-offs and generate BOM and BOQ for projects.
Evaluate suppliers based on compliance, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Review vendor documentation and certifications.
Implement AI tools for process improvement and automation.
Ensure components align with design and project needs.
Provide technical justifications for supplier selection.
Identify cost-saving opportunities with Value Engineering.
Recommend alternative materials or vendors meeting project specs.
Ensure procurement meets standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
Assess materials for reliability and compatibility.
Resolve supplier-related technical issues.
Streamline technical approvals between teams.
Provide reports and evaluations to management.
Support supply chain issue resolution.
Collaborate across project teams.
Research and recommend equipment and materials.
Promote continuous improvement and problem solving.
Familiarity with the National Electric Code for PV Solar Systems.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
5+ years in electrical design, procurement, or supply chain within electrical industry.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk software, and ERP systems (SAP, Procore, Oracle).
Knowledge of AI-driven procurement technologies.
Strong design skills and ability to read detailed drawings.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
