As a Legal Entity Controller within the. Morgan Securities Legal Entity Controller team, you will lead a team of accounting professionals, providing expertise in project management, Swiss financial regulatory reporting and general accounting matters. You will also provide technical support on complex subject, and partner with operational functional peers (., credit, operations, CFO, compliance, treasury). The role offers interaction with different regions and exposure to management. It will be based in Geneva, reporting to the PB EMEA Controller.
Job responsibilities:
1. Able to lead strategic and complex projects, manage large data sets, understand data flows, and foster a culture of automation.
2. Support the vision for the Global Private Bank Financial Reporting product and create a product road map based on this vision. Perform financial analysis and reviews, including income statement and balance sheet variance analysis, legal entity financial board pack reviews, and US financial regulatory reporting submissions.
3. Maintain the integrity of the financial statements and control environment, with an automation mindset.
4. Provide ad hoc assistance on Local Swiss and US financial regulatory reporting and corporate matters.
5. Partner on various matters, such as new business initiatives, complex financial products, and business requests, with CFOs, operations, corporate tax, technology, risk, credit risk, compliance, treasury, and legal colleagues
6. Provide business and data analysis to cross line of business initiatives; analysing and documenting key business discussions, dependencies, and other project related materials
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
7. Qualified Accountant, Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
8. A minimum of 8 years of experience in banking or financial services, ideally with experience in a global private bank framework.
9. Strong knowledge of one of the following skills: accounting principles, financial regulatory reporting (. capital and liquidity), and banking products is a plus.
10. Working experience on Olympic and/or Temenos Banking Systems, ideally in a change management role and experience using financial reporting tools such as SAP, MS Office suite and business intelligence/automation tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, Python, etc.
11. Knowledge of the local Swiss financial regulatory reporting framework, ideally using the Fire platform
12. Very good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
13. Skills in stakeholder influencing, conflict resolution, organization, and time management
14. Fluent in English.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
15. Fluency in French is a plus.
16. CPA title or equivalent is preferred.
