Overview ANAVIA specializes in the design, development & manufacturing of vertical take-off & landing (VTOL) systems of up to 500 kilograms. The company offers industry-leading unmanned helicopter systems for various mission profiles, such as Surveillance & Reconnaissance, Inspection or Mapping & Cargo.
Responsibilities Design and develop electrical and electronic systems (e.g., PCBs, wiring harnesses, avionics) for unmanned platforms, including power distribution, sensors, communication interfaces, and control electronics.
Support integration of electrical subsystems with mechanical, avionics, software, and control systems in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
Select, evaluate, and validate electrical components and subsystems to ensure system reliability, performance, and compliance with industry standards.
Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including schematics, interface definitions, wiring diagrams, and test plans.
Conduct system-level and component-level testing, including troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of electrical issues.
Ensure safe and reliable operation of electrical systems throughout development, prototype, and production phases.
Take ownership of electrical design decisions and communicate trade-offs effectively. Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and implementation of corrective actions as needed.
Support certification, compliance, and documentation in alignment with internal and external standards and processes.
Participate in continuous improvement of electrical design practices, tools, and workflows.
Work independently and responsibly, performing tasks as described above.
Ensure compliance with ANAVIA’s employment contract, safety instructions, safety requirements, quality manual, work instructions and process specifications.
International travel required up to 25% of working hours.
Qualifications Education : Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
Experience : Typically 3+ years in electrical design and integration for unmanned systems, robotics, or aerospace; experience with testing and debugging electrical systems.
Skills : Proficiency in circuit design, embedded systems, and familiarity with design software (e.g., Altium, MATLAB). Strong knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI) and electrical safety standards. Problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Knowledge : Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and certification standards (e.g., FAA AC 21-99(0), SAE AS50881, IPC-2221).
Communication : Very good communication skills, with high social skills and good analytical and excellent technical understanding. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across disciplines.
Language : Good language skills in English (oral and written). German desirable.
