The incumbent will join the Back Office team of a financial institution in Basel, Switzerland and will work in close collaboration with the different units of the Banking department. You will join an international and diverse team that believes in collaboration, is open to new ideas, and welcomes new members of diverse backgrounds and experiences. You will further your expertise in dealing with a broad range of products, processes and systems in a unique Back Office environment.
Requirements
* Processing, confirmation and matching of transactions.
* Investigating and resolving processing exceptions for non-standard or special operations (bonds, money market, FX, and derivative instruments).
* Investigating and resolving confirmation breaks and settlement failures together with the front office, custodians and customers.
* Ensuring accuracy and timeliness of confirmations, settlements and payments.
* Ensuring settlement instructions are kept up to date.
* Creating, checking and maintaining bond definitions in the trading system.
* Documenting processes and procedures as the need arises.
* Acting as the main point of contact for internal customers with regards to certain activities.
Competences
* Back or Middle Office experience in a financial institution (operational related to transaction processing, instrument enrichment and collateral processing).
* Knowledge of financial instruments (e.g. bonds, money market, FX, and derivative instruments, fixed income etc. – knowledge in any of the listed would be helpful).
* Familiarity with SWIFT messaging formats
* Fluency in English is required.
* General understanding of and interest in IT, new technologies.
* Ability to work methodically and accurately even under pressure.
* Ability to cope with a variety of tasks.
* Flexible, cooperative, excellent communication skills; a team player with customer focus.
