About the Role
As an Atelier Manager, you will lead the production of luxury leather handbags. Working closely with designers and a small team of artisans, this role requires full ownership of the production process from crafting prototypes to managing day-to-day atelier operations and mentoring junior talent.
* Oversee end-to-end production of luxury handbags, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship and finishing.
* Work directly with artisans to execute complex, delicate handwork using traditional leathercraft techniques.
* Translate design concepts into technically feasible, high-quality products.
* Train and guide junior artisans, maintaining consistent standards and preserving craftsmanship know-how.
* Lead quality control with meticulous attention to detail, every product must be flawless.
* Collaborate with designers to problem-solve during development and refine prototypes for production.
* Support sustainable practices by creatively managing materials and minimizing waste.
You Will Be Responsible For
* Managing day-to-day atelier operations, including supervising artisans and mentoring junior talent.
* Crafting prototypes and overseeing the production process from start to finish.
* Working closely with designers to translate design concepts into high-quality products.
* Collaborating with designers to problem-solve during development and refining prototypes for production.
The Ideal Candidate
* Has experience managing or leading a leather atelier, ideally in high-end or luxury handbags.
* Possesses deep knowledge of traditional handcraft and leatherworking techniques.
* Leads by doing as this is a hands-on role, not just supervisory.
* Has worked closely with designers and small production teams to bring products to life.
* Is passionate about artisanal quality, craftsmanship, and sustainability.
* Speaks English fluently, along with either French or Italian.
