Position
In a global, cross‑functional environment the System Development (SD) department is responsible for workflow optimization and the successful integration of hardware, software, consumables and reagents to finally perform the system verification of diagnostics instruments.
Opportunity
As an intern, you will work as part of a cross‑functional team on automating and tooling in the context of development and product care of complex diagnostics systems, consisting of fluidics, robotics software, thermal, electrical, mechanical and biochemistry elements.
Responsibilities
- Elaboration of (Cobots‑) Robotics concepts within a laboratory environment, to support our vision of a dark lab by fully automating laboratory operation and workflows
- Programming, testing and maintaining newly created and existing automated solutions within our laboratories
- Supporting our Integration Teams with the installation of Robotics Solutions within our laboratory environment
- Plan, coordinate and execute small work packages within your area of responsibility including reporting and escalation of topics or issues to the management
- Be able to work as an individual as well as part of a team
Qualifications
- You are currently enrolled as a Bachelor- / Master student or have recently graduated (within the last 12 months), preferably in computer science with specific knowledge in e.g. robotics and/or vision, electrical engineering or systems engineering or equivalent
- Excellent spoken and written command of English (German is an advantage)
- You are able to communicate appropriately with different target groups
- Knowledge of one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, C#/NET, LabVIEW etc.)
- You are motivated to build, manage and foster relationships and networks within the department and the related projects
- Quick grasp and understanding of complex issues, conceptual and creative thinking
- Due to regulations non‑EU/EFTA citizens must provide a certificate from the university as part of the application documents, stating that an internship is mandatory
