Senior Director – SAP (S/4HANA Transformation)
Overview
A senior leadership role responsible for defining and executing enterprise-wide SAP strategy, with a primary focus on S/4HANA transformation programs. This position leads large-scale digital transformation initiatives, aligning business objectives with SAP capabilities while ensuring delivery excellence, stakeholder alignment, and long-term value realization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
* Define and drive the organisation’s SAP roadmap, with a strong emphasis on S/4HANA adoption (Greenfield, Brownfield, or Hybrid approaches).
* Partner with executive stakeholders (C-suite, business unit leaders) to align SAP strategy with broader business transformation goals.
* Establish governance frameworks, transformation principles, and best practices across SAP programs.
S/4HANA Transformation Delivery
* Lead end-to-end S/4HANA transformation programs, from business case through design, implementation, and post-go-live optimisation.
* Oversee system conversion, landscape transformation, and new implementation initiatives.
* Ensure integration across core SAP modules (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing).
* Manage a portfolio of SAP initiatives, ensuring prioritisation aligns with strategic outcomes.
* Drive delivery excellence across multiple concurrent programs, managing timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies.
* Implement scalable delivery models (Agile, hybrid, or waterfall as appropriate).
Stakeholder & Change Management
* Act as the senior point of contact for executive stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
* Lead organisational change management efforts to support adoption of S/4HANA.
* Build strong relationships across IT, business functions, and external partners.
Technology & Architecture Oversight
* Provide direction on SAP architecture, including integration with non-SAP systems, cloud platforms, and data ecosystems.
* Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance standards.
* Drive adoption of SAP best practices, standardisation, and simplification.
* Build, lead, and mentor high-performing SAP teams across functional, technical, and delivery disciplines.
* Manage internal teams and external system integrators/partners.
* Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Requirements
* Extensive experience leading large-scale SAP transformation programs, with deep expertise in S/4HANA .
* Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-country or multi-entity SAP implementations.
* Strong understanding of core SAP modules (Finance, Supply Chain, etc.) and integration landscapes.
* Experience working at executive level, influencing senior stakeholders and driving strategic decisions.
* Demonstrated leadership of large teams and global delivery models.
* Strong commercial acumen, including budgeting, vendor management, and business case development.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., hyperscalers) and modern enterprise architectures is highly desirable.
