The project centers on "The Adventures of Fairy Princess Minerva," a series designed for ages 6–8, where each story introduces analytical thinking and engineering concepts through magical adventures. The first book, "Fairy Princess Minerva and the Enchanted Garden," will be a full-color, 8.5" × 8.5" square comic featuring 20 story pages (approximately 55–65 panels) and 4 illustrated back matter pages. The narrative follows Princess Minerva as she solves mysteries in her magical kingdom using real-world problem-solving frameworks, making STEM concepts accessible and engaging for young readers. The script is fully developed, with detailed panel-by-panel direction and art notes, ensuring a clear creative vision and collaborative workflow.
Responsibilities Complete illustration of a 20-page comic book (55–65 panels) in full color, plus 4 additional back matter pages.
Maintain consistent character design for six main characters and various fantastical settings.
Create artwork that balances whimsical fantasy elements with light technical details suitable for a young audience.
Collaborate with the author to ensure visual storytelling aligns with the script and educational objectives.
Deliver high-resolution, print-ready files in the required format and dimensions.
Qualifications Proven experience in sequential art, particularly for childrens books or comics.
Strong portfolio demonstrating expressive, organic illustration style and character consistency.
Ability to interpret detailed scripts and visual direction, incorporating both fantasy and subtle technical elements.
Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback throughout the creative process.
