We are also recruiting for a Head of Design for AI, and these roles will work closely together with our wider CAST team and partners.

About The Role
CAST’s work includes building the capacity of the social sector to respond to rapid advances in AI. Evidence from various reports shows that charities need support and capacity building to benefit from AI. This role will focus on supporting sector experiments that create demonstrable impact, working with peer groups and charities to turn conversations into practical actions.
The Head of Technical AI Experiments will:
* Provide technical support and advice to organizations;
* Build experiments and tools alongside the sector;
* Design and develop programs, training, and interventions to promote AI adoption.
This role will shape AI work based on deep expertise and support the CAST team to upskill in AI.
Responsibilities
* Create user-friendly AI products and prototypes for charities;
* Contribute to AI strategy aligned with CAST’s mission;
* Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI experiments and tools;
* Provide training and resources to build AI literacy in the social sector;
* Help develop ethical guidelines for AI use;
* Build partnerships with tech experts, academia, and stakeholders;
* Stay updated on AI trends and assess their impacts;
* Support CAST team in AI knowledge and skills development.
Skills and Experience
* Proven senior AI or tech leadership experience, ideally in the social sector;
* Deep knowledge of AI technologies (machine learning, NLP, data analytics);
* Experience in strategic initiatives for tech adoption and innovation;
* Understanding of ethical and regulatory AI considerations;
* Strong organizational and communication skills;
* Ability to work autonomously in a distributed team;
* Commitment to CAST’s mission.
