The hotel features 80 guest rooms and suites, three dining venues—including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, and a lobby lounge—and is ideal for meetings and events with its newly renovated facilities, including a grand historic ballroom.
About the job
Based at Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich, within the Food & Beverage Department, the Chef de Rang - Bar supports the bar and brasserie team to consistently provide impeccable service to guests. The position reports to the Restaurant Manager and Assistant F&B Director.
Your Tasks
As Chef de Rang, your responsibilities include:
* Providing professional advice and customer care to guests
* Serving food and drinks professionally
* Maintaining high-quality standards
* Preparing mise-en-place, covering, and cleaning work in the restaurant area
* Supporting your superiors in daily tasks
* Registering transactions in the cash register system and ensuring accurate cash handling
* Assisting in the preparation and execution of special events
* Adhering to hygiene regulations and cleanliness standards within HACCP guidelines
Your Profile
We expect from you:
* A completed vocational training in the hotel or catering industry
* Basic computer skills; knowledge of Infrasys cash register system and SevenRooms booking system is advantageous
* Excellent communication skills—handling guest feedback and complaints professionally
* Open-mindedness and teamwork skills
* Excellent manners, a well-groomed appearance, and positive charisma
* Flexibility and ability to work under pressure, including weekends and holidays
* Proficiency in German and English; additional languages are a plus
* Legal right to work in Switzerland
