HALO is looking for a Product Quality and Compliance Specialsit who will join our Supplier Relations Team to provide administrative support for Compliance Programs which oversee all product safety, ethical sourcing, quality control / assurance, and environmental protection on all promotional products which go out to our hundreds of clients.
HALO believes in bringing teams and individuals together in a collaborative environment. For candidates that live within a 30-mile radius of our Illinois offices, the following will apply:
* If you reside within a 30-mile radius of our Sterling, IL office, you are required to work a hybrid schedule, working in-person anywhere from 1-3 times a week.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement compliance processes and procedures
* Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders required to ensure product offerings comply with compliance policies, protocols and standards. This includes administering protocols pertaining to ethical sourcing, product safety, quality assurance, and other related topics.
* Collaborate cross-departmentally to ensure the products provided by HALO meet company and State, Federal and International standards.
* Coordinate with Suppliers to request, review, and approve testing documents for product
* Coordinate with 3rd party testing, inspection, and audit service providers to: request service quotes, issue purchase orders (POs), submit samples, track progress, review final reports, and review / approve final invoicing
* Documentation management of tests, inspections, and audit reports as needed
* Assist with research, interpretation, and communication of government regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements pertaining to product safety, social compliance, and quality assurance
* Understand requirements: Stay current on regulatory, industry, and customer requirements and best practices regarding pertinent compliance topics by attending webinar trainings and industry conferences
* Communicate effectively with Sales Team about the status of product compliance assessments, testing, inspection, or audits
* Assist with education of HALO staff, customers, and suppliers on the subject of global responsibility, social compliance, and product safety
* Assist Sales and Management Teams to identify compliance expectations of current and potential customers, to ensure continuous improvement of HALO’s Compliance Program and polices
Requirements
* High school diploma or GED required
* 2+ years of direct safety and compliance experience
* Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Great communicator and listener in-person, over phone, email, and video conference
* Strong work ethic, with a good humored with a positive “can do” attitude
* Values curiosity, creativity, inclusive teams, and achieving results
* Problem solver that is comfortable making judgment calls how to spend time
* Loves learning by providing, receiving and responding positively to constructive feedback
* Highly detail oriented with strong organizational skills
* Motivated by deadlines
* Able to work overtime when required
Preferred Experience
* Associates and/or Bachelors Degree
* Promotional product industry experience
* Familiarity/Experience with ERP systems
Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is between $40,000 - $55,000 annually. Please note that this pay range serves as a general guideline and reflects a broad spectrum of labor markets across the US. While it is uncommon for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the range, compensation decisions are influenced by various factors. At HALO, these include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's work experience, location, education and training, key skills, internal equity, external market data, and broader market and business considerations.
