We are looking for a skilled MSAT Automation Engineer to support and optimize our operational technology (OT) environment. In this role, you will work hands‑on with various PLC and control systems, contribute to project execution, and ensure reliable performance of automation and monitoring systems within a highly regulated GMP setting.
Responsibilities
Independently work with various PLC systems and control systems to execute projects and perform maintenance activities
Provide direct support in troubleshooting and resolving issues in PLC automation systems and control systems in close collaboration with engineers, IT, and other stakeholders
Implement corrective and preventive actions to continuously improve the OT environment
Support maintenance activities related to all on‑site OT systems
Contribute to commissioning activities from an automation and control systems perspective (e.g., expansion projects, system upgrades, modernization tasks)
Create and maintain lifecycle documentation such as Software Design Specifications, Hardware Design Specifications, Functional Specifications, and Work Instructions, ensuring accuracy and GMP compliance
Monitor and manage server environments for user management, backup management, and audit trail functionality
Maintain regular communication with IT support teams
Qualifications
Completed training or further education in automation or a comparable technical field
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in automation engineering and/or MES
Strong knowledge of PLC, DCS, and MES systems
Experience working in highly regulated environments, ideally in GxP or IVD settings
Experience in project‑based work is an advantage
Good German skills and very good English skills
Cross‑functional knowledge in Industry 4.0 and Operational Technology
Strong analytical thinking and quick comprehension
Ability to challenge conventional approaches
Solid IT and network technology knowledge
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 12 months with high chance of being extended
