Job Description
As Head of Risk Monitoring & Reporting, you will oversee credit and market risk assessment and monitoring, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and developing strategies to manage and mitigate risks effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with FINMA regulations regarding credit and market risks, including capital adequacy requirements.
Align risk policies with regulatory standards.
Risk assessment
Perform risk assessments considering geopolitical, market, and operational risks.
Provide regular reports to senior management and the board on risk exposures, compliance gaps, and capital adequacy, highlighting early warning signals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Trading and ALM & Treasury departments to calibrate risk appetite aligned with strategic goals.
Work with ALM, Treasury, and Finance to optimize risk-weighted assets and ensure regulatory reporting accuracy under FINMA frameworks.
Strategic Leadership
Design risk mitigation strategies balancing profitability and sustainability, especially in volatile markets.
Oversee remediation plans for non-compliance or control weaknesses identified during audits or reviews.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of risk management experience in banking.
Strong knowledge of Swiss banking regulations (Basel III, FINMA, etc.).
Deep understanding of financial instruments (derivatives, bonds, equities, structured products).
Awareness of market dynamics and macroeconomic factors.
Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
Ability to challenge and upgrade risk frameworks.
Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement, including senior management and regulators.
Interpersonal skills, results-oriented, organized.
