Lead Software Developer (Data & Analytics)

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Developer with strong fundamental or market data experience to work closely with traders and research analysts on their European Gas & Power trading desks.
This position is embedded within the trading team and oversees the acquisition and management of both market and fundamental data. You will be responsible for developing advanced models and delivering data and analytics platforms and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop software solutions to solve complex, business-critical challenges
* Design, implement, and maintain high-performance ETL/ELT data pipelines
* Build scalable data and analytics tools hosted in the cloud
* Design fit-for-purpose data models to handle diverse internal and external datasets
* Support trading teams by automating manual processes and workflows
* Gain in-depth knowledge of desk-specific technical projects to ensure alignment with commercial goals
Skills & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
* 5+ years’ experience with Python and SQL
* Strong understanding of relational databases
* Proven experience working with AWS (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda)
* Background in enterprise-level data architecture and systems
* Familiarity with object-oriented and NoSQL databases is an advantage
* Previous experience in Gas or Power trading is preferred
