The opportunity
The Area Sales Manager at Hitachi, Ltd. will be responsible for driving sales growth and market share within a designated geographical territory and with assigned accounts. This role involves developing and executing strategic sales plans and building strong customer relationships for MV Surge Arresters business.

How you’ll make an impact
* Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies and account development plans to achieve or exceed assigned sales quotas and revenue objectives within the designated area and customers
* Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities, including key accounts and strategic partnerships, to expand Hitachi's customer base
* Cultivate and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing customers, understanding their needs and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
* Train, guide and support representatives from local sales offices
* Conduct regular market analysis, competitor intelligence, and trend identification to adapt sales strategies and identify new growth opportunities
* Prepare and present accurate sales forecasts, reports, and business plans
* Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product management, customer service, and other internal teams to ensure seamless customer experiences and product adoption
* Negotiate and close complex sales agreements, ensuring profitability and adherence to company policies
* Represent Hitachi Energy at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote brand awareness and generate leads
Your background
* A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
* At least five years of experience in technical B2B sales, technical project management, or technical sales support
* Strong understanding of Energy applications, especially Medium Voltages ones
* Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth
* Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies and plans
* Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
* A customer-focused attitude and a willingness to travel 25-50% within the assigned territory as required (internationally)
* A structured, proactive, and flexible approach to your work, with a strong sense of responsibility
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and proficiency in Salesforce.com and Microsoft Office Suite
* Fluent in English, knowledge of other European languages (especially German) is a plus
