(Sr) Accountant

In the finance and accounting department with an international focus (IFRS “EU”), we prepare all important financial data and financial transactions of the company, providing management with the necessary data to derive corresponding KPIs.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the accounting of the Swiss sales subsidiary: m aintain financial accounting records in accordance with local & international accounting standards ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Maintain general ledger and all sub-ledgers, including accounts receivale, accounts payable, accurals & deferrals.
* Ensure timely period end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
* Responsible for VAT reporting (quarterly) and VAT reconciliation (quarterly and annually).
* Support the Finance & Accounting team of the production and business unit headquarter entity, incl. weekly payment runs (in rotation) and depending on capacity needs.
* Assist the team in the preparation and review of the quarterly financial statements and in the preparation for the external audit.
* Deputy of the Accounting Manager of the production and business unit headquarter entity.
* Work on special projects and support initiatives aimed at improving finance processes, to enhance efficiency and support the implementation of internal controls.
* Closely collaborate with the Financial Controller in preparing budgets and forecasts, and conducting financial analysis for the Swiss sales subsidiary.
Profile:
* Specialist in Accounting, either certificate in Finance & Accounting (Commercial training with further training in finance and accounting or training for a professional certificate) or university degree in finance/accounting
* At least 3 years of professional experience in a similar position
* Proficient in using ERP systems, preferably SAP and Microsoft office applications
* Sound understanding of international accounting standards (IFRS or US GAAP)
* Understanding in dealing with Swiss regulations (VAT, Swiss Code of Obligations) is a plus
* Demonstrates a high level of precision and quality in all tasks
* Strong team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative when needed.
* Fluent in both written and spoken English, German at least B1 level
