Your responsibilities
The Engineering (EN) Department's Information Management (IM) group is looking for an early-career Engineer skilled in CAD and PLM domains, who enjoys helping others and is eager to learn. You will join a young, international team of application engineers and business analysts within the group's PLM Service team, supporting, improving, and digitalizing the organization's engineering processes.
The PLM Service team provides engineering information management tools for the accelerator complex and its detectors, managing millions of engineering documents, product definitions, and CAD designs.
Currently, we are modernizing our landscape of heterogeneous engineering applications to enable integrated digital processes and engineering Digital Twins. Over 5000 users rely on the software provided by the group.
Your work will include:
* Providing CAD and PLM expertise, advising on best practices, and resolving issues.
* Capturing user needs and developing solutions with clear specifications and processes.
* Analyzing, improving, and documenting engineering workflows and procedures.
* Performing validation testing of systems and new features.
* Contributing to a unique project empowering the entire CERN engineering community.
Your profile
Skills:
* Experience with mechanical 3D CAD tools such as CATIA V5, Creo, Siemens NX, or similar.
* Knowledge of Business Analysis, including needs and requirements analysis, process modeling, etc.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Genuine interest in helping, sharing knowledge, and training others.
* Proficiency in spoken and written English, with a willingness to learn French.
Eligibility criteria:
* You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
* By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Engineering or a related field, with your highest qualification being a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
* You have not previously held a CERN fellow or graduate contract.
* Applicants without a university degree are not eligible.
* Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.

Contract duration: 24 months, with possible extension up to 36 months.

This position may require working during nights, Sundays, and holidays as needed.
