Mission /General objective
Assure continuously and in sustainable way the economic optimization of the process units within their Integrity operating windows/Design operating windows (IOW/DOW) by managing the entire portfolio of Advanced control applications at Cressier Refinery. He/She is the expert in this area and by consequence leads and promotes Advanced Process control in the refinery.
Main tasks and responsibilities
* Manages the refinery's Advanced Process Control (APC) applications portfolio, leveraging internal and external resources as needed
* Maintains, troubleshoots, and continuously improves/develops APC applications
* Provides daily optimization recommendations to ROP and RCT teams during production meetings
* Identifies and pursues new opportunities for APC development and implementation
* Tracks and reports APC KPIs (daily/monthly/annual), proposing corrective actions where necessary
* Designs and deploys new APC applications and quality estimators when beneficial
* Participates in APC-related audits and ensures follow-up on corrective actions
* Leads RTO and APC-related projects as project manager
* Coaches process engineers and operators on APC principles and organizes training workshops for new panel operators
* Identifies and helps resolve base layer control issues, contributing to loop performance improvements
* Works closely with the RPA team to troubleshoot, communicate, and optimize control networks
* Collaborates with Process Support technologists and plant operators to ensure effective APC integration
