Every developer is empowered with ownership and opportunities to grow.Software Development Engineer II - Scalable Systems & Data EngineeringIn this role, you will:Collaborate with diverse engineering teams, product managers, and machine learning engineers to understand business requirements and shape new product featuresParticipate in technical design discussions and propose alternative approachesTake ownership of scalable, fast, and robust applicationsTest, debug, monitor, and actively support applications, APIs, and data pipelinesBuild technical expertise in new areas and share knowledge with the teamMinimum Experience and Qualifications:Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience—including non-traditional or self-taught backgrounds2+ years of experience in application developmentStrong understanding of algorithms and data structuresExperience in backend/API development using Java Spring Boot, Node.js, and TypeScriptExperience with relational databases and NoSQL databasesFamiliarity with streaming technologiesPreferred Qualifications:Experience in backend/API development with Java Spring Boot, Node.js TypeScriptExperience in data manipulation and storage with relational databases, NoSQL databases, streaming technologies, SparkKnowledge of several Amazon Web ServicesKnowledge of Docker and KubernetesExpedia Group is proud to offer a wide range of benefits to support employees and their families, including medical/dental/vision, paid time off, and an Employee Assistance Program.
