Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Media Director, the Digital Media Production Specialist plays a key role in executing and elevating the district's visual storytelling and live production initiatives. This position supports the strategic vision of the district media program by producing high-quality video and photography content, leading assigned live events, developing graphics and motion design assets, and helping maintain a cohesive multimedia brand across all platforms. This role offers the opportunity to take meaningful ownership of production initiatives within a growing district media program. As the program continues to expand, the Digital Media Production Specialist will play an integral role in shaping workflows, strengthening brand consistency, and building sustainable production systems that serve the district long-term.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Produce and edit high-quality video content for promotional, informational, and event-based programming.
* Collaborate with the Media Director on creative concepts, shot planning, storytelling structure, and production planning.
* Design and implement graphics, motion elements, lower-thirds, and branded templates that elevate the district's visual storytelling and set a professional standard across all media.
* Edit video projects using Adobe Premiere Pro and other Adobe Creative Suite applications.
* Manage audio recording, lighting setups, and multi-camera productions.
* Maintain organized project files and adhere to established production workflows.
* Assist in mentoring and guiding students involved in media production activities.


Event Coverage & Live Production

* Serve as the primary on-site audiovisual lead for assigned evening and weekend district events, including auditorium productions, concerts, ceremonies, Board meetings, and livestream broadcasts.
* Operate independently at assigned events while executing the production standards and creative direction established by the Media Director.
* Provide technical direction and hands‑on support for live productions, ensuring reliable broadcast delivery and professional presentation.
* Coordinate on‑site production logistics, manage setup and breakdown, and ensure safe handling and transport of equipment.
* Operate and maintain audiovisual equipment in the BHS Television Studio, Radio Station, auditorium spaces, and other district locations.


Digital Media & Brand Development

* Capture high-quality photography at school events, classrooms, athletics, and community activities for use across district platforms.
* Collaborate with the Media Director to expand and strengthen the district's social media presence through photography, short‑form content, and platform‑specific storytelling.
* Assist in developing content strategies that increase engagement, consistency, and visual identity across platforms.
* Maintain organized digital asset libraries for video and photography projects to ensure efficient workflow and long‑term accessibility.
* Perform other duties as assigned in alignment with the Media Director's strategic vision.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Film, Media Production, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field preferred. Demonstrated portfolio of video production work required (professional, freelance, academic, or personal projects). Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro required; After Effects and Photoshop experience strongly preferred. Strong photography skills and understanding of composition, lighting, and digital asset management. Experience with live streaming platforms and live event production preferred. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills and professional demeanor when interacting with students, staff, and community members. Must thrive in a fast‑paced production environment, take initiative, and be comfortable managing projects independently while working within clearly defined creative direction and production standards established by the Media Director. This role offers significant hands‑on production responsibility within a rapidly expanding district media program.


Terms of Employment

Full-time, twelve‑month position. 40 hours per week. The work schedule will regularly include daytime and evening hours, and may include weekend assignments to support live broadcasts, recordings, and district events. Hours may vary throughout the week based on production schedules. Salary range $60,000-$65,000, and benefits in accordance with Board of Education policy and applicable agreements.
