Overview

For our live events department, we are looking for someone who can translate the emotions of a soundtrack into drone choreography while also bringing solid engineering skills to the table. In this role you’ll help create new choreographies for world-class productions such as Eurovision and artists including Celine Dion and Justin Bieber. Beyond the artistic work, you’ll also contribute to the technical backbone: developing new control algorithms, qualifying hardware components, and improving the support tools that keep our global fleet flying reliably.

We are Entrepreneurs, Engineers, Artists, Professionals, Mathematicians, and Designers; all working as one.

Do you thrive at the intersection of art and technology? Do you want to join a fast-moving young company where your contributions will make a difference? Then join us!

What you’ll do

The role is two-fold; the position will devote at least 50% of their time to development work on:

* Qualifying and testing drone power unit components (motors, propellers, batteries)
* Developing and testing new onboard control algorithms
* Providing Level 2 and Level 3 support for ongoing shows
* Improving and extending Python-based support tools for our growing global fleet

The other part of the work will be devoted to working on new and ongoing shows, including:

* Collaborating with clients, directors, and creatives to design drone choreographies
* Programming and testing choreographies for new shows in C++
* Traveling on-site to help deliver shows worldwide

What you bring

* Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or Control Systems
* Background in control systems, robotics, or system dynamics
* Creative mindset and ability to discuss artistic concepts with non-technical stakeholders
* Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new topics
* Hands-on attitude and willingness to travel (10–20%)

Additional Plus

* Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing, motors, batteries, or propellers
* Background in live entertainment, animation, or similar creative fields

Who you are

* Comfortable switching between deep technical work and creative discussions
* You have an eye for creativity with the ability to have creative discussions with directors and show creatives
* You have a start-up mentality and thrive in an environment where you must be flexible and jump into different projects and roles when necessary
* Team player with high problem-solving competence, capable of working independently in a fast-moving environment

Why Verity?

* Flexibility of a hybrid work environment. You can arrange start and finish times around your life (picking up kids, walking the dog, training for your next marathon at lunch)
* A great engineering culture, including flat hierarchies, an open-door policy, and a focus on joint responsibility and mutual trust and support
* Working with a skilled, high-achieving, experienced, and fun team with lots of opportunities to develop your professional career and grow with the company
