Job Description: Senior Telecom / Network Engineer at HSBC Switzerland

The Senior Telecom / Network Engineer will operate, support, and deploy the security and telecommunication infrastructure of HSBC in Switzerland.
The Jobholder will be the technical Telecom contact supporting our project management teams, service owners, and IT security team.

What you will do :
* Work closely with the HSBC Global Telecommunication and Security teams worldwide.
* Prepare and maintain all Network Services documentation (procedures, rules, implementations, and changes) for telecommunications supported within the team.
* Test, implement, and document backup and DR procedures.
* Advise and assist other Network Services teams and IT functions in all data communications aspects.
* Manage a segmented network with firewalls, updating rules as needed.
* Ensure objectives set by your team leader are met and comply with internal and external rules.
In this role you will :
* Integrate, operate, and support HSBC Switzerland network components such as Firewalls, Proxies, VPN, switches, and routers, with support from the Global Telecom team or external suppliers.
* Collaborate with the HSBC Global engineering team to deploy infrastructure aligned with global standards and keep it updated.
* Contribute to adopting cloud solutions supporting our infrastructure, in line with HSBC standards and Swiss regulations.
* Manage project delivery from inception to completion, coordinating stakeholders including global teams and external suppliers.
* Align Telecom infrastructure with group standards where possible; find compliant alternatives when not.
* Maintain stability and reliability of Telecom infrastructure through thorough change control processes.
* Provide first and second level support for network issues, resolving problems promptly or engaging relevant third parties.
* Participate in out-of-hours (24/7) on-call support.
* Understand the network infrastructure products supported and escalate support when needed.
* Follow change, incident, and problem management procedures during operations.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in IT engineering (specializing in Network/Telecom preferred) or equivalent experience in network operations. Experience with Checkpoint firewall and Cisco ACI is a plus.
* Basic skills in Windows, Unix, and Linux system administration.
* Good understanding of the computer science ecosystem and communication with various IT professionals.
* Knowledge of the OSI network model from lower layers to application layers.
* Agile qualification is an asset.
* Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
