We are seeking a Legal Counsel for a global insurance company in Switzerland. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing the company with legal and regulatory advice in close collaboration with affiliates throughout Europe with a focus on the Italian market. Proficiency in both English and Italian, along with strong organizational skills, is essential for this role.
Key tasks/responsibilities:
* Provide legal and regulatory advice concerning insurance products in development, underwriting, administration and claims whilst navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
* Advise on insurance distribution channels including licensing, advertising, marketing and sales for predominantly the Italian but also other European markets
* Draft and negotiate insurance related agreements (NDA, MOU, Distribution Agreements, Co-operation Agreements, Joint Ventures, Outsourcing Agreements)
* Facilitate on-boarding of new distribution partners managing existing relationships (product enhancements)
* Draft forms, contracts, and processes to build and ensure a legally sound and scalable business that can fulfill its mission and purpose
* Assist with regulatory issues related to acquisitions, joint ventures and the establishment of new licensed businesses
* Collaborate with other members of the team regarding disputes, corporate organization, employment and intellectual property matters
Experience & Qualifications:
* Legal Counsel with at least 5+ years of experience in a global insurance organization and/or specified law firm
* Regulatory knowledge of the Italian insurance market is highly preferred
* Fluent in English and Italian, both written and verbal; proficiency in any additional language is a plus
* Highly organized and efficient, with a proven ability to drive projects and deliver results within set timelines
* Excellent drafting skills, communication skills, and attention to detail
